Powder coating can be applied to most metal surfaces. Aluminium requires an additional pretreatment step to remove oxidation and contamination from the surface prior to coating.

The powder coating process involves cleaning the metal of any oil, grease, or other contaminants before the dry powder coating is applied via an electrostatic spray system. The item is then baked in an oven at 180°C – 220°C which fuses and cures the powder into a smooth durable finish.

Metalon uses high quality Dulux powder coatings which are available in a wide variety of colours and special effects.
